- DZMM’s ‘Ikaw Na Ba’ series begins on ‘Pasada Sais Trenta’ and ‘Dos Por Dos’
- DZMM launches “Haybol Pinoy,” retains AM radio leadership
DZMM continues to take the lead in delivering important and relevant information to Filipinos as the election special “Halalan 2019 Ikaw Na Ba: The DZMM Senatorial Candidates’ Interview” begins airing Tuesdays and Thursdays starting 4:30 pm, in a special team-up between “Pasada Sais Trenta” and “Dos por Dos” in time for the 2019 national elections.
The interview series, which features candidates running for senator on live radio via DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and TV via DZMM TeleRadyo, is part of the station’s regular election coverage with the objective of helping Filipinos get to know the candidates better and probe if they are worthy of a position in public office, so that they may be able to make informed decisions come election day.
Since its first episode last November 27, new “Pasada Sais Trenta” anchors Peter Musñgi and Pat-P Daza along with “Dos Por Dos” anchors Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja have quizzed and grilled candidates like Juan Ponce Enrile, Sergio Osmena III, Samira Gutoc, Ding Generoso, Willie Ong, Romulo Macalintal, Harry Roque, Florian Hilbay, and Larry Gadon. Peter and Pat-P, who used to anchor the DZMM weekend top-rater “Teka Muna,” teamed up with Anthony and Gerry and delivered their usual hard-hitting questions to the candidates, who were also given an avenue to present their platforms and opinions on issues and directly answer accusations made against them, and tell viewers and listeners why they deserve a senatorial position.
The candidates answered questions on their respective credentials and platforms, and tackled issues like federalism, inflation and the economy, the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), housing, and more. Listeners and viewers can look forward to hearing the views and platforms of other senatorial hopefuls in the coming weeks.
In 2016, presidential, vice-presidential, and senatorial candidates made the rounds of DZMM as the stations veteran anchors like Karen Davila, Anthony Taberna, Gerry Baja and Vic Lima interviewed them. DZMM was the only media organization that was able to interview all presidential and vice-presidential bets including then-candidates Rodrigo Duterte who was Davao City mayor at the time, Jejomar Binay, senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, senator Grace Poe, and former Department of Interior and Local Government secretary Mar Roxas, as well as Alan Peter Cayetano, Chiz Escudero, Gringo Honasan, Bongbong Marcos, Sonny Trillanes, and then-House representative Leni Robredo.
Meanwhile, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, which was also recently chosen by PUP students as the AM Radio Station of the Year, still comes first to listeners in Mega Manila based on the latest Kantar Media Radio Survey conducted last September 25 to October 1 for the third quarter of 2018. DZMM garnered an audience share of 32 percent, to remain ahead of DZBB and DZRH, which got 28 percent and 11 percent respectively.
To add to its lineup of relevant and interesting programs, DZMM also launched “Haybol Pinoy” last November 24, every Saturday at 2 pm and anchored by Atty. Terri Ridon and ABS-CBN News anchor Tina Marasigan. The show will tackle everything related to house, households, and homemaking, including tips for renting, buying, and building your home. DZMM also extended the timeslots of “SOCO sa DZMM” and “Radyo Negosyo,” which now airs at 6 pm and 7:30 pm, respectively on Saturdays.
Catch the “Halalan 2019 Ikaw Na Ba: The DZMM Senatorial Candidates’ Interview” series every Tuesday and Thursday with Peter Musñgi, Pat-P Daza, Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on DZMM TeleRadyo and DZMM Radyo Patrol 630; and “Haybol Pinoy” every Saturday from 2 pm to 3 pm.
