Former Kapamilya and Pinoy Big Brother housemate Manolo Pedrosa went MIA (missing-in-action) from showbiz for two years. When he came back to the limelight, Manolo signed a contract under GMA Network and only explained why he went MIA.
Projects in GMA Network.
Manolo recently signed under GMA Network which became his showbiz comeback. His last project was ABS-CBN’s Oh My G which stars Janella Salvador and Marlo Mortel.
Why he went MIA?
Although reports have been made that Manolo took a break to focus on his studies, it wasn’t the whole story. Manolo suffered from intense pain due to bulging disc. A bulging disc refers to when the inner nucleus of a vertebral disc protrudes to its outer layer.
Wala akong choice. Hindi ako makapaglakad nang maayos. Tumaba ako. Hindi sustainable ang life nu’ng time na ‘yon ng pagiging artista dahil napakasakit talaga.”
A doctor suggested that Manolo should undergo surgery. He, however, didn’t agree to it and researched treatments and workouts instead. He had a well-balanced and sustainable diet. Manolo went through that for two years.
“Sabi ng doctor dapat mag-surgery raw ako. Pero ayoko. So, ang ginawa ko nag-research ako, I had healthy habits. Pinaghirapan ko ‘yon for 2 years.”
While he was trying to make himself feel better, Manolo went to school for two years. He, however, missed acting and his manager, Jun Reyes.
“At habang nagri-rehab ako, nag-schooling din ako for 2 years. And then, heto na nga, na-miss ko na mag-acting, na-miss ko ang showbiz kaya tinawagan ko ang manager ko, si Sir Jun Reyes, I asked him kung puwede na ako bumalik sa showbiz.”
Manolo expressed how acting is his passion which his parents gladly supported.
Determination and hard work.
Manolo also noted that he had a different perception on showbiz. Manolo currently stars in GMA Network’s family-comedy-drama, Pamilya Roces.
Dati 16 years old lang ako, immature pa.
