- Cacai Velasquez-Mitra shared that it has been Regine’s decision all along.
Regine Velasquez-Alcasid denied that husband, Ogie Alcasid, urged her to leave GMA Network and transfer to ABS-CBN. Although Ogie helped her to talk to the ABS-CBN executives, he never pushed her to do so.
Not Ogie’s idea.
Regine dismissed the idea that Ogie was the one who put the idea into her head.
“People have been saying this was his idea. Actually, hindi. It was really me. I did ask for his help — to set up a meeting with them. It was really me who decided.”
A long decision made.
Regine’s sister and manager, Cacai Velasquez-Mitra, shared that it has been Regine’s decision all along. She revealed that there was a proper goodbye between Regine and the whole GMA Network team.
“Matagal, kasi ang tagal naming nag-decide, eh. So, nagpaalam muna kami bago ako nag-mediation, eh.”
Deciding for months.
Cacai disclosed that Regine has decided to transfer to ABS-CBN for a long time now. She noted that Regine’s contract with GMA Network ended in January this year.
“Mga two months or three months ago? Mga ganun. Matagal, medyo matagal-tagal… Actually, yung network contract (sa GMA-7) ended talaga end of January. Medyo matagal na. But meron syang existing contract, ano lang, show contract with Sarap Diva that ended ng mga June. That’s the only time I negotiated (with ABS-CBN).”
