US Ambassador Phillip Goldberg takes the spotlight in “The Bottomline With Boy Abunda” this Saturday (November 8) to share his insights regarding the transparency of the US and its commitment to seek justice for the 26-year-old Jennifer Laude who was allegedly killed by Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton.
Goldberg served as Ambassador to Bolivia from 2006 to 2008, Chief of Mission in Pristina, Kosovo, from 2004 to 2006 and Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Santiago, Chile, from 2001 to 2004. He was sworn in as US Ambassador to the Philippines on November 21, 2013. Goldberg will also share his views on the Visiting Forces Agreement and how it was designed to protect both nations.
Watch Goldberg as he explains the necessity of Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement as a way to expand the cooperation and partnership with the Philippines and how it would help solve the country’s counterterrorism issues.
How can Filipinos expect mutual defense cooperation? Is the Laude murder case unrelated to the PH and US alliance? Was it a mutual decision between the Philippines and US to place Pemberton under US custody?
