- Anton Antenorcruz regrets being married to his Filipino-Australian boyfriend.
- He described that ‘young life decision’ as rash and a mistake.
- The singer used that relationship breakdown as an inspiration during his time in ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’.
‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ finalist Anton Antenorcruz confessed that his innocent decision to marry his teenage boyfriend was a wrong one.
The singer shared that he tied the knot in 2012 with his boyfriend John Carasig. A Filipino-Australian chef, when he was still 18 years old. He admits that his decision was rash and a mistake.
“Ang masasabi ko lang po [ay] mali ‘yung decision ko noon,” he explained. “Mali ‘yung decision ko, na ngayon hindi ko na siya uulitin. Padalus-dalos lang po talaga.”
His relationship with John Carasig was hanging on the edge during the competition and was one of the elements that affect his performance during the finals. He described it as an “emotional stress.”
Anton added that it was a learning experience, “’Yung mga life-changing decisions before, noong bata pa ako, di ko pa naisip ang importance ng mga ganu’ng kalalaking decisions.”
He used that sinking relationship as a motivation during the grand finals. He aims to prove that he can achieve something despite being judged by other people.
