- Xtina Superstar recently called out Teresita “Winwyn” Marquez on preferring Miss Universe for “natural-born women.”
- She felt offended and expressed her dismay on the said statement.
- She also received hate comments and took it upon herself to slam gender issues.
Teresita “Winwyn” Marquez recently shared her views on Angela Ponce, a transgender woman, winning Miss Spain Universe 2018. She also preferred Miss Universe for “natural-born women.”
Xtina Paner, social media star with strong views on feminism and LGBTQ+ acceptance, felt offended on Teresita’s answer.
“Sana ibigay na lang sa natural-born women.”
Teresita clarified that she applauds Spain for allowing transgender women on joining. She also doesn’t have any problem with transgenders. However, she thinks that Miss Universe should be exclusive for natural born-women.
“I love that Spain was really open na pinayagan talaga nila yung ganun. I have nothing against transgenders. I’m really proud na sobrang happy, out na talaga, and everyone is respecting them, di ba? Pero Miss Universe per se, sana ibigay na lang sa natural-born women. And then kasi, there is Miss International Queen, it’s a prestigious pageant also…”

Xtina on Winwyn’s views
Xtina expressed her dismay and annoyance on the said statement. However, she pointed out that Teresita’s statement just denotes that she can’t accept transgender women as a real woman.
“”nothing against trangenders BUT…” is really just a way of saying I can tolerate you but I can’t accept you as a woman. Girl, just cut the bs and say that you don’t agree to it, wag mo na echosin ng “nothing against transgenders” or “I respect the Lgbt” keme, nakakairita lang”
Receiving hate comments and slamming gender issues
After Xtina publicly expressed her own opinion, she received hate comments on Teresita’s supporters, pageant fans, and other homophobic netizens. She took it upon herself to slam gender issues.
“Leave Miss U alone. Im with @wynmarquez this time. Lahat na lang gusto nyo kayo rin? The pageant Is for “real women” only. Gawa na lang kayo sarili nyo.”
Xtina also shut the said netizen down with a short, “K. Now take a seat.”
Another netizen noted that transgender women are so sensitive (despite LGBTQ+ people receiving insults and hate comments every single day.)
“sobrang sensitive nyo naman, opinion nya yon no? Respect2 pa kayong nalalaman, e respect nyo rin opinion naming natural born women, palagi na lng ba kayo ang iintindihin? eh, sa di kami pabor na si kayo sasali sa missU..”
Xtina also asked the said netizen whether they read her tweet or not.
“Sis, did you even read the context of my tweet?”
Although transgender women are real women, many netizens still don’t think that they are.
“Frankly speaking, TRANSGENDER is not considered as a WOMAN so as a WOMAN is not considered as a TRANSGENDER. Imagine a real woman competing in a transgender pageant? There’s a vast difference between those two terminologies. YOU CAN’T BUT WOMANHOOD as per Isler. Thank you.”
Xtina just replied with a gif with the text, “You sound ignorant.”
Another netizen tried educating Xtina on transgender women.
“I totally agree too with @wynmarquez MU is only for “real women”.”
However, Xtina made a good point on the use of the word “real” before “women.”
“Transwomen are women, no such thing as “real” women, the fact that you just used “real” like it’s upgrade to a woman’s femininity does not make sense.”
LGBTQ+ people never had respect and now, they are fighting for it. One netizen also slammed Xtina and other transgender women on trying to feel included in the women’s category.
“If you want respect, learn how to respect real women too. Wala ka pa sa mundo nandiyan na ang Miss Universe na pageant ng mga babae, all of a sudden gusto nyo na din salihan.
Xtina quoted the said tweet and pointed out that this is just another cisgender person with privilege who wants more “respect.”
“LUH. Just another case of cis privilege wanting more “respect” lol k”
