Kris Aquino recently had an interview with Cristy Fermin in Radyo Singko 92.3 News FM. In the interview, Kris revealed that the late President Cory Aquino never left her inheritance.
She also remembered that at a time, her relationship with her mother became strained.
Although Josh is a huge blessing, it was a painful time because Cory had turned away from her.
“So eto yun, the most painful part of our lives, kami ng mom ko, our relationship was nung pinagbubuntis ko si Josh… First time niya ako tiniis.”
Kris also shared that Cory had been furious when she got pregnant out of wedlock. She got disowned at the time and also revealed that she didn’t become a part of the inheritance.
“No. I was never part of the inheritance.”
Kris also disclosed a conversation she had with Cory before she died of colon cancer on August 1, 2009. Cory also only wanted fairness for Josh and Bimby.
“Let’s be clear. It was never spoken of because hindi naman ine-expect na mangyayari sa kanya, but she made it very clear to me, ‘I want the field to be level. Gusto ko patas sila.’”
Cory had referred to Josh and his younger brother Bimby. Kris’ youngest son had gained attention from many even before he was born. Cory added that Kris had money of her own and the inheritance she would receive would only for Josh. Kris revealed that the money remains under Ballsy Aquino-Cruz’s care.
“Nasa tiyan ko pa lang, pinag-aagawan si Bimb para sa commercials. Masakit sa mom ko na this child is getting everything, and Kuya Josh—because of his condition, because of his autism—hindi maaasahan kung ano’ng mangyayari. That time pa lang, sinabi ng mom ko, ‘Because you have money of your own, the money that you should expect from me, nakapangalan kay Josh.’ And hindi ako ang namamahala nun. That is under my Ate’s care.”
Kris also added a reason behind Cory’s inheritance to Josh. She shared how they apologized towards each other.
“Because come what may, sinigurado ng mom ko, hindi maagrabyado si Kuya. And because nag-sorry kaming dalawa sa isa’t isa about that. And she said, ‘I was also wrong because I punished the child.’ Favorite niya si Josh—yung pinaka-weak, yun talaga ang mamahalin mo.”
