- Dingdong Dantes spoke about the controversial Duterte kiss.
- Agot Isidro also reacted to the infamous scene in South Korea
Actor Dingdong Dantes didn’t buy Sen. Win Gatchalian’s justification of President Duterte kissing an OFW in South Korea.
Dantes who was also a former Commissioner of National Youth Commission countered Sen. Gatchalian’s reason that if married actors can do kissing scenes in their films why can’t the President do.
Dingdong was reacting to Sen. Win Gatchalian’s justification to President Duterte’s controversial kiss saying actors do that also for entertainment so should be nothing wrong when a President do the same.
But that reasoning did sit well with Dingdong who took to Twitter to share his insight.
According to him, actors are accountable to their viewers and their producers not the same as public officials who should be following some protocols and proper decorum because governance is not entertainment.
“As actors, we are accountable to our viewers, our producers and the manner of delivering the story. Aba’y ibang usapan yan kapag public official ka. Kaya’t huwag dapat ihambing gamit ang ganiyangargumento,” the actor Tweeted.
Meanwhile, Dingdong was not the only celebrity who shares disappointment and disgust over the controversial Dutertekiss.
Another celebrity and known Duterte critic Agot Isidro also took to Twitter to share her sentiments 0n the issue.
“I am a Filipino and I do not accept this behavior, especially from a person in authority. Deplorable. Mahiya naman kayo.”
Former volleyball star and now TV host Gretchen Ho have also expressed her opinion regarding the matter.
Gretchen tweeted, the president holds a position of authority and he’s not out to do entertainment.
“He is in a position of authority. The highest at that. Everything he does reflects on his constituents. That’s not being professional. He is not out to make entertainment.”
Spoken word artist Miguel Severo also voiced out his opinion via numbers of question marks on his tweet.
