If you are looking for a big screen mobile device but don’t want to consider buying a tablet, then this top mid-range phone can be the perfect device for you.
Here is our review of the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra.
DESIGN
The XA2 Ultra is certainly big for a mid-range phone. But thanks to its thin side bezels, the phone looks almost borderless. The volume rocker, power and a dedicated camera button can be located at the right side and the sim tray at the left.
There is a headphone jack located at the top of the device and the speaker and USB Type-C port is at the bottom. The fingerprint sensor is located at the back, which is a nice place to put it considering a phone this size. Don’t worry about holding the phone because it has a very nice grip to it. But if you are using it one-handed, you can turn on the mini display for your convenience.
DISPLAY
The XA2 Ultra’s immersive 6” full HD screen will totally change the way you look at a mid-range phone. If you are the type of person who loves to watch movies or even play games on your phone, you will surely love this one. It has a 1080×1920 resolution with a 16:9 ratio. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 so the device will be resistant to minor scratches. The colors look vivid and the details are crisp on this display thanks to the Image Enhance Technology.
PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY
The XA2 Ultra is running on Android 8.0 Oreo. It has 4GB of RAM with 32/64GB of internal storage, which is also can be expanded through a micro SD card. It is run by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. It is a little bit low compared to newer devices, but this greatly helps in lowering the consumption of the battery greatly due to the phone’s large display. Lag is not an issue on this phone and there is no interruption when playing heavy games. The phone is fast and can handle several tasks. Split-screen is also available if you like to do two things at once.
The XA2 Ultra has a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3580 mAh. The phone will last for about 2 to 3 days on an average use. The phone also has Quick Charging, which is a big help in case you needed a large amount of juice within a very limited time.
CAMERA
The XA2 Ultra has dual front cameras – a 16MP camera with optical image stabilization, partnered by an 8MP ultra-wide camera for taking selfies with your friends and family. The camera produces stunning, clear photos even in low light scenarios. It also has an LED flash if additional lighting is needed.
XA2 Ultra’s 23MP rear camera is one of the best parts of this phone. It has an aperture of f/2.0 which makes low light shots great. It is also quick to focus, so you will never miss a good opportunity capturing that awesome scenario. The pictures have so much clarity in them, same goes for video.
