Alden Richards will soon star in a GMA Network series, Victor Magtanggol, a family-adventure-fantasy drama. The series has been announced in 24 Oras on May 25, Friday.
Alden had a year to rest as he used to star in Destined to be Yours in 2017. This also starred Maine Mendoza, the other half of AlDub love team.
Alden posted a tweet right after the said announcement.

However, many AlDub fans didn’t want to watch Alden’s Victor Magtanggol because of Maine’s absence. One netizen couldn’t believe how Alden had changed since.
“I can’t connect the 2015 Alden Richards with the Alden Richards that said “Matagal ko na gustong gawin ito” referring to something outside something that “binago mo buhay ko” and “naging madali ang lahat”. Laki ng pinagbago. Nevertheless, good luck on ur new show.”
A netizen also asked Alden not to forget to look back to the day where AlDub changed his life.

One netizen pointed out that they couldn’t watch Alden’s Victor Magtanggol. However, it isn’t Alden’s fault as GMA Network never honored their word on having another Maine and Alden television series.
“Sorry Alden not watching your Magtangol. Isn’t your fault though but just the same NO to all GMA teleserye coz of what they did to ALDUB! They have no WORD OF HONOR!”
Another netizen also bid good luck towards Alden. However, scenes with his love team in the said series would annoy them even if it’s just acting.

A netizen slammed Alden on his disloyalty and pretentious posts with Bible verses. They pointed out that Alden pretended not to use another person. They also continued that he used Julie Anne San Jose and Louise delos Reyes.

Another netizen pointed out that Alden talking about faith. However, he and GMA Network chose to fool fans on giving them hope on having another Maine and Alden television series.

However, some netizens celebrated Alden’s new television series. One netizen expressed her excitement on a new series they would watch at night.
“Yey! Excited na kami para dito!! congrats alden!..May aabangan na naman ako sa gabi!..”
A netizen celebrated that their long wait has come to an end.

Another netizen celebrated Alden’s new series and revealed that they would watch Victor Magtanggol religiously.
