The second season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) opens on Sunday (May 6) with a double-header in the women’s division of the Reinforced Conference, which will be aired LIVE from the San Juan Arena on ABS-CBN S+A, S+A HD, with livestreaming on premiervolleyballleague.com.
The Tacloban Fighting Warays led by Jovielyn Prado will face former NCAA nemesis Grethcel Soltones and the rest of the PayMaya HighFlyers at 2 pm.
After them, Alyssa Valdez and the Creamline Cool Smashers will parade new players Michele Gumabao and Melissa Gohing in their 4 pm showdown with newcomer PetroGazz Angels, which is led by former DLSU Lady Spikers Stephanie Mercado and Wensh Tiu.
In men’s play, The Philippine Army Troopers will provide the first test to Vice Co. Blockbusters, the team bannered by FEU Tamaraws standouts and “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda. Fans can watch their match via livestream at 10 am.
The PVL recently held a grand fans day at the TriNoma Activity Center to bring players, fans, and the entire PVL community together, and to present the lineups in its first conference this year.
The 2018 Reinforced Conference welcomes new teams PetroGazz, PayMaya, Tacloban, and Philippine Navy-Iriga Lady Oragons to join the Cool Smashers, BaliPure Water Defenders, and BanKo Perlas Spikers in contending for the crown currently held by the Pocari Lady Warriors, which merged with the Philippine Air Force Lady Jet Spikers this off-season to for the Pocari Sweat-Airforce Lady Warriors.
Meanwhile, the other teams competing in the men’s division are the Cignal HD Spikers, IEM Volley Masters, PLDT Home Ultera Ultra Fast Hitters, and the Philippine Air Force Jet Spikers.
