- The Office of the Ombudsman charged Roderick Paulate with graft & falsification.
- Ombudsman also filed the said charges in April 25, Wednesday.
- Roderick allegedly hired ghost employees.
The Office of the Ombudsman recently charged Roderick Paulate with graft and falsification on April 25, Wednesday. Allegedly, Roderick hired ghost employees, someone recorded on the payroll system who does not work for the business, in 2010. The ghost employees can be a real person who consented to be named on the payroll.
However, the ghost employees can be fictitious which a dishonest employer had created.
Roderick will face one count of graft, one count of falsification by a public officer. He will also face eight counts of falsification of public documents. Reports also suggest that Roderick and his driver Vicente Bajamunde already falsified the July payroll to make it look like several employees received their pay.
In an earlier report from ABS-CBN News, the Ombudsman said that two have dues to the Quezon City government amounting to Php 1, 109, 000 from August to November of 2010.
The Ombudsman recommended a total bail bond of Php 246, 000 for Roderick. Meanwhile, the Ombudsman recommended Php 30, 000 for Vicente.
Adrian Ayalin recently tweeted proof of the said charges against Roderick.
“Ombudsman files graft and falsification charges vs. actor and Quezon City Councilor Roderick Paulate for the hiring of ghost employees in 2010.”
On Instagram, the actor-politician shared his sentiments about the issue. With a photo containing Romans 8:31, he captioned it with, “Pagkatapos ng Barangay Election sa May 14 susunod na naman ang filing ng mga kandidatong tatakbo sa Oct para sa local election sa May 2019 sa QC. Lord, ano naman po ang susunod nila?😊😊😊 Noone is more powerful than you Lord. Noone is above your Name!🙏🙏🙏
