It seemed that Facebook has already rolled up its campaign against the proliferation of fake news in its platform and its fact checking mechanism.
On April 12, Facebook announced that it has partnered with Rappler and Vera files to be its 3rd party fact checking organizations in the Philippines.
Rappler and Vera files will then check and review news stories on Facebook, check its facts and rate of accuracy.
According to Facebook the move it geared towards instilling digital literacy among Filipinos who are one of the most active and passionate users of the social media platform.
And just 2 days after the announcement, Facebook has already flagged posible links that spread fake news in socil media.
In several screengrabs posted by Philstar on their Facebook page website mainly from DDS supporters were flagged and were blocked from being shared.
