Singer-songwriter Mark Carpio is unstoppable. After the success of his debut song and album “Hiling,” the property-specialist-turned-musician scored another instant hit with his catchy new single titled “Bukod-Tangi (Ang Natural Mong Pag-ibig)”.
Carpio’s “Bukod-Tangi” captured the hearts and musical tastes of Filipinos because of the way it speaks of a natural and unconditional love that people from all walks of life can easily connect with.
Carpio, an Awit Award nominee for best new male and best balladeer for 2017, attributes “Bukod Tangi’s” early success and overwhelming social media buzz to the song’s encompassing message.
“Bukod-Tangi is something that everyone can relate to because it dwells on the different facets of natural, universal love,” says Carpio, who discloses that he loves mapping out different stages and kinds of love through his songs.
“Whether you are in a romantic relationship or not, Bukod-Tangi speaks to you on so many levels,” the songwriter in him stresses. “The song, in fact, does not put one kind of love above or below another, but celebrates all of them.
Whether you are a nurturing mother or supportive father to your children, a loving wife or husband to your spouse, or practically anyone who loves and is loved, Bukod-Tangi is your song.”
“Bukod-Tangi” is inspired by ASCOF Lagundi for Kids, a natural cough remedy chosen by caring moms for their families. For many years now, ASCOF Lagundi has always been mommies’ trusted partner not only in relieving the cough of their children, but also in showing their tender loving care for them.
As of this writing, “Bukod-Tangi” has been played 47,902 times on Spotify, while its official music video—which was shot at Camella Tierra Nevada in General Trias, Cavite—has generated over 1.1 million views in various social media platforms. Netizens gush about how they instantly got hooked on “Bukod-Tangi,” which some claim tend to trigger a spell of Last Song Syndrome (LSS).
