- The Cure to replace Kambal, Karimbal in primetime
- The new series will introduce a new concept in Philippine television
- The series is expected to rival with ABS-CBN’s Bagani
As the exciting episodes of Kambal, Karibal are about to end, a new mystery-filled and action-packed series is about to air in GMA 7 primetime.
The highly anticipated and mysterious case of “The Cure” has raised the viewers’ curiosity on what the movie is all about. The series will be starred by Jennylyn Mercado, Tom Rodriguez, Mark Herras, LJ Reyes, at Jaclyn Jose. It is a new introduction to the genre in Philippine television that caught the attention of many fans.
As far as we know, The Cure is all about medication gone wrong. A pharmaceutical company attempts to develop a drug to cure cancer which eventually led to a disaster. Its side effects showed unnatural behavior to the patient and became a widespread disease. It’s up to Jennylyn and Tom to find another cure for the failed cure and do any means necessary to survive.
The new GMA series is more on sci-fi, medical, action, and family drama. Not our typical teleserye, but the management has high hopes that this new genre will help expand both the imagination of the viewers and producers. This might be the time for Filipinos to appreciate other genres other than the long-standing line of romantic comedies.
The Cure is expected to air the same time as “Bagani” in the rival network. Meanwhile, Bagani appeared to be a disappointment to many LizQuen fans and the production is having trouble hitting their expectations. Bagani received several controversies and criticisms even before the series started.
We’re sure that the set is doing their best to repair the damage but having the “The Cure” as its rival show might just be its downfall.
