“GMA Network remains the preferred network in viewer-rich Mega Manila for the whole year of 2010.
“Based on data from the more widely recognized TV ratings data supplier, AGB Nielsen, GMA Network garnered an average people audience share of 36.3% in Mega Manila in 2010. Its closest competitor, ABS-CBN, posted an average of 32.7%, 3.6 points behind GMA Network in the highly-coveted Mega Manila area.
“Mega Manila comprises 55% of the total urban television households in the country.
“December ratings data (with December 26 to 31 based on overnight ratings data) showed that GMA Network improved its lead when it posted an average audience share of 35.8% versus ABS-CBN’s 26.6%. Moreover, 19 of the top 30 highest rating programs in December, were from the Kapuso Network.
“Topping the list of leading programs is A Duet to Forever, the Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez wedding with an audience share of 45.6%. This was followed by constant top-rater Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho with an audience share of 37.8%. The third place, garnering an audience share of 30.4%, went to the reality-based program, Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown hosted by Richard Gutierrez.
“The Kapuso Network’s other programs that made it to the overall top 30 programs of December were noontime top-rating program Eat Bulaga; primetime news program 24 Oras; Kap’s Amazing Stories and primetime dramas like Bantatay; Jillian: Namamasko Po; Grazilda and Beauty Queen.
“For 2011, the Network presents a stunning line-up of programs slated to premiere in the first quarter of the year.
“First on the list is the fantasy-drama, Dwarfina, starring the lovely and promising pair of Heart Evangelista and Dennis Trillo. Viewers will experience the mythical and magical world of duwendes as Dwarfina, a girl who is no taller than a finger, makes her debut this January on GMA Telebabad. Also in the cast are Janice de Belen, Jackielou Blanco, Pauleen Luna and Will Devaughn, among others.

“Regine Velasquez and Dingdong Dantes, another new and interesting tandem, topbill the original romantic-comedy series I Heart You Pare. The program is all set to make audiences laugh, cry and fall in love as it presents an amusing and heartwarming portrayal of the intriguing and colorful world of gays and lesbians.
“The Kapuso Station, likewise, makes history as it brings to light the first ever epic-serye, Amaya. Primetime Queen Marian Rivera takes on the challenging role of a woman blessed with superpowers, which she will use to lead her people at a time dominated by men. The network is currently adding its finishing touches to its groundbreaking and well-researched storyline, scheduled to premiere in February.

24 Oras, Numero Uno News Program pa rin sa Bansa para sa Pebrero

Para sa buwan ng mga puso, napunta sa Kapuso parin ang puso ng mas nakararaming mga Pinoy nationwide imbes sa Kapamilya, lalo na pagdating sa telebabad matapos talunin ng GMA ang kalabang istasyon sa average audience share na 41% kumpara sa ABS-CBN 2 na may 31% lang.
Sa pagbabalita sa primetime, wagi ang GMA sa pamamagitan ng “24 Oras” na numero uno pa rin sa mga newscast sa buong bansa kahit nagbagong bihis ang kalabang newscast at namimigay ng malalaking premyo ang kalabang game show.
Mas maraming tahanan sa bansa ang nakatutok sa “24 0ras” nina Mike Enriquez, at Mel Tiangco na may average rating na 26.7% ngayong Pebrero. Talo ang tambalang Noli De Castro, Korina Sanchez, at Ted Failon na nagtala lang ng 20.5% at mas dehado ang game show na “Willing Willie” ng TV5 na may 11% rating lang.
Mas lalong umaariba ang Kapuso Network pagdating sa drama dahil pa rin sa hindi matinag na line-up ng mga primetime teleserye nito. Nanlalamon pa rin nationwide sa ratings ang “I ♥ Heart You Pare” (34.9%) na sinusundan ng “The Baker King” (31.8%), at “Machete” (26.4%).
Maging sa Mega Manila na tinuturing na balwarte ng ABS-CBN 2 ay hindi nakapalag ang mga pambatong show ng Kapamilya sa dekalibreng mga seryeng handog ng GMA 7. Nagawang pataubin ng “I ♥ You Pare” (28%), “The Baler King” (23.5%), at “Machete” (22.1%) ang “Mara Clara” (21.4%), “Mutya” (20.2%), and “Imortal” (20.6%).
Samantala, siyam sa top 10 most-watched TV program nationwide ay mula sa GMA.
Nangunguna pa rin dito ang I ♥ You Pare(34.9%), na sinusundan ng The Baker King (31.8%), Alakdana (30%), My Lover, My Wife (28.6%), 24 Oras (26.7%), Jessica Soho (26.4), Mel and Joey (23.9%), Imbestigador (22.5%), at Pepito Manaloto (21.3%) na nakuha ang huling puwesto.
Sa pangkalahatan, GMA pa rin ang nananatiling numero unong TV network sa bansa sa audience share nito na 36% para sa buwan ng Pebrero laabn sa ABS-CBN na may 35% at TV5 na may 13%.
Sa Balance Luzon o areas sa labas ng Mega Manila, mas maraming tahanan sa bansa ang tumutok sa GMA (38%) vs ABS-CBN (35%). Sa Visayas, mahigit sa doble ang bilang ng tahanan na nakatutok sa GMA(54%) kumpara sa ABS-CBN (24%). At sa Mindanao, mas maraming tahanan ang tumutok sa GMA (53%) vs ABS-CBN (21%).
Ngayong Pebrero, hindi lang hawak ng GMAang national leadership pagdating sa TV ratings. Naghahari na rin ang nasabing istasyon sa primetime TV sa Mega Manila na dating pinangunahan ng ABS-CBN.
Hindi lang sa Pilipinas tanyag ang Kantar Media/TNS. Kilalang-kilala ang nasabing kumpanya sa iba’t ibang parte ng mundo. Malalaking kumpanya ang mga cliente nila at matagal na silang may karanasan sa pagsasaliksik ng mga manonood ng programa sa TV sa 32 na bansa.
Nagsimulang maglabas ng TV ratings sa Pilipinas noong Pebrero 2009 ang Kantar Media. May 1,370 panels o kabahayan ang Kantar Media/TNS sa Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao na kumakatawan sa buong bansa.
Lumipat sa AGB Nielsen Media ang GMA matapos magsampa ito ng kaso laban sa Kantar Media/TNS Research sa hindi nito pagsunod sa hiniling na imbestigasyon hinggil sa umano’y pandaraya ng datos ng kanilang TV ratings. Kasalukuyang nakabinbin pa sa korte ang kaso.
