- Pia Wurtzbach stressed why she’d like a gay- child on ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda’ show.
- Although she meant it well, she still offended the LGBT Community.
- She responded to her bashers.
Pia Wurtzbach recently sat with Boy Abunda in an interview on ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda’ where she admitted why she wants a gay- child. She faced the King of Talk’s Golden Mirror and described herself. She went on to give herself an advice. Moreover, Boy Abunda asked her why she would want a gay-child.
She chuckled then answered, “Because I really believe na aalagaan ka nila kapag matanda ka na. Not to say na hindi ka aalagaan kung straight ‘yung anak mo, but based on my experience, iba mag-alaga ‘yung beki.
“And gusto kong ma-experience ‘yung merong excited na bihisan ako, na ayusan ako, alagaan ako. Parang magiging best friend ko. Nai-imagine ko na‘yung anak ko, best friend ko, at beki siya.”
Although, she meant well with what she said, most of the memvers of the LGBT community felt offended. Wurtzbach’s unpopular remarks drew flak from Netizens.
“Why Pia Wurtzbach was never a true progressive and nothing more than lip service:”
“Pia Wurtzbach, another straight girl treating gay man as accessories… ok”
But, some did support her claims and stated that she has a point. And some just told people to gave her a chance to be educated.
“Well, props to her for trying. She just might be naive and needs to be educated. Are we already dismissing her kasi she just made that comment?”
Another Netizen responded, “I’m sure it was well-intended. Kailangan lang talaga palawakin ang pananaw ni Pia.”
Some hoped that Pia would stop playing up harmful gender stereotypes.
“I hope Pia has heard the reaction to these comments. Disappointing that she is playing up such harmful gender stereotypes.”
However, Pia responded to the said issue via a tweet:
“Shocked to see some comments online about what I said at TWBA. Please don’t misinterpret what I said. I have high regards for the LGBT. It was just a fun interview, guys! Meant no disrespect at all. Mahal ko kayo! Happy holidays everyone! #GoodVibesLang 🏳️🌈”
