A red-carpet is ready for Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters as she arrived in Manila last December 5, Tuesday. Department of Tourism invited her in the Philippines to promote the country.
Demi-Leigh also brought along Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere and other Miss Universe 2017 candidates. For four days, Demi-Leigh and other candidates set to tour Batanes, Vigan, Bohol and also, Camiguin.
Although Demi-Leigh and Iris took a different flight, they arrived in Manila the same time. Demi-Leigh posted a photo with her on Instagram with the caption: “Look who I bumped into at the airport 🎉💜💙 @irismittenaeremf

Demi-Leigh, Iris and other candidates will also showcase the work of local talented designers in a charity fashion show at Mindanao. When she arrived, she exclaimed: “It’s my first time in the Philippines, I’m so excited!”
She also posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: “The journey is the destination 💙#itsmorefuninthephilippines #missuniverse @missuniverse”
She recently held a #askmissuniverse on the official Miss Universe Twitter account. Demi-Leigh, then, received a question asking her to reveal her favorite titleholder. Although, aside from fellow South Africa winner, Margaret Gardiner, who won the crown for the first time in 1978.
Then, she answered:
“I adore all previous winners but I really fell in love with @PiaWurtzbach after she won and I loved her reign. #askmissuniverse”
