Papa Jackson was emotional on giving his acceptance speech for ‘Favorite Radio DJ’ in the RAWR Awards 2017.
-
He admits that the award is his redemption.

Papa Jackson also shared some negative thoughts he had when he resigned as a DJ last year.
Papa Jackson won the ‘Favorite Radio DJ‘ against DJ Jai Ho, DJ Chacha, DJ Chico Garcia, Nicole Hyala, Lloyd Cadena, Papa Dudut, Laila Chikadora and DJ Raqi Terra in the recently concluded RAWR Awards 2017 held in Chaos at City of Dreams Manila last November 18. He won because of his radio show on 106.7 Energy FM titled, “Hello… STG (Sorry, Thank you and Goodbye).
He introduced himself and said, “My name is Papa Jackson from 106.7 Energy FM. And this is very very sweet to me.”
He began his DJ career in mid-2007 when he launched his love advice program, TLC (True Love Conversations) as 90.7 Love Radio’s Papa Jack. In March 2015, he hosted his own show, “Call Me Papa Jack.”
Then, in December 16, 2016, he made his last broadcast of his nightly radio program and resigned as a DJ of 90.7 Love Radio. In his acceptance speech, he explained that he disappeared for a long time and thought that the people would forget about him.
“I resigned as a DJ. I thought makakalimutan niyo na ako.”
On March 20, 2017, “Papa Jack” was changed to “Papa J” as a DJ of 106.7 Energy FM. This is when he launched his new show, “Hello… STG (Sorry, Thank you and Goodbye).
He was later named as Papa Jackson.
Papa Jackson is also the station manager of the FM radio station. He and Kuya Chico also reunited for another radio show titled “Gabi na, Umaga na.” This show can also be watched in Facebook Live.
“Gusto ko nalang magkarpentero sana, I think I have proven my worth. Magpapahinga na ako. Pero, eto, may trabaho ako ulit. And it’s paying me very good and I’m doing well para sa career ko. Etong award na ‘to, eto na po ay redemption ko.”
Then, he ended with a quote saying, “Konti lang po ang DJ sa Pilipinas na naka-aircon ang kuwarto, maganda ang cellphone, naka-sportscar. Ako po yun. Maraming salamat po!”
