From her earliest memories, the young Jessica was exposed to a world of music that fosters her gradual love for singing with great inspirations from records of Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand and Aretha Franklin. There were difficult times in Jessica’s early teens when she had to deal with peer pressure and struggled with bullying. With her bittersweet childhood, Jessica slowly grew to embrace her own unique identity and found the compelling strength to pursue her singing passion.
Jessica found her singing voice at the age of 5, when she broke into “Greatest Love of All” at home, in front of a stunned family. At the age of 9, she appeared on national television for a competition on Pop Star Kids on QTV in the Philippines. Her first serious engagement with the music world was in 2013 when she auditioned for “The Voice Philippines” and captivated the hearts of the judges and audience with her powerful rendition of Alicia Keys’ “Fallin”. She eventually came under the mentorship of Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas, and the rest, as they say, is history. Jessica emerged as a free spirited young woman empowered with an incredible talent, thriving enthusiasm and enormous heart. She reached the top 4 in the final round, the youngest talent to rise to that level in the competition.
Spunky and fun, Jessica is a splash of rainbow colors, with her happy and outgoing personality. Her authenticity and love for singing deeply impressed Apl, who signed her to BMBX, his Singapore-based content and artist development and brand marketing company.
Jessica’s first single “Just Like You” will be made available on all digital platforms on 5 August across 15 countries – Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The song speaks of Jessica’s dreams and her courage to achieve those dreams. Recorded in Manila, Philippines and Hollywood, California, it will be the first of many hits we expect from this talented young artist!
Now is the time for Jessica’s voice to rule the world. Hold on to your seats, here comes Jessica!
