ABS-CBN picked up 12 honors, including Best Drama Series Program and Best News Commentary, for its shows and other content that champion good values worth emulating by Filipinos at the 39th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA).
Top-rating afternoon family drama “The Greatest Love,” which ended last April and told the story of Gloria (Sylvia Sanchez), a mother diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and struggling to keep her family together, was named Best Drama Series Program.
Meanwhile “Failon Ngayon sa DZMM,” Ted Failon’s award-winning radio show, was hailed as Best News Commentary.
Other Kapamilya winning programs include “Home Sweetie Home” (Best Comedy Program), “ASAP” (Best Entertainment Show), “Oyayi” (Best Children and Youth Program), and “Pluma” (Best Religious Program).
ABS-CBN songs, music videos, and station ID were also honored at the CMMA, including “Ikaw ang Sunshine Ko” (Best Secular Song), ABS-CBN Palawan Christmas Station ID 2016 (Best Station ID), “Together We Thrive” by Piolo Pascual (Best Music Video and Best Inspirational Song), and Halalan Prayer (Best TV AD-Public Service).
