Jerome Ponce and Loisa Andalio’s episode “Candy’s Crush” is set to compete against entries from The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Australia.
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the organizing body behind the International Emmys, announced that the country’s longest running series for children, “Wansapanatym Presents Candy’s Crush” is nominated for best TV movie/mini-series category.
The Loisa Andalio and Jerome Ponce’s episode titled “Candy’s Crush” was directed by Andoy Ranay. The mini series ran from June 26 to August 7 last year. The story revolved around Paolo (Jerome) and Candy (Loisa) after an old lady casts a spell on the former’s drink. In keeping with the usual fairytale plot, only a true love’s kiss could break the spell.
The show is set to compete against entries from The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Australia.
On the other hand, ABS-CBN’s primetime newscast “TV Patrol” also bagged a nomination from the 2017 International Emmy Awards for news and current affairs in August.
While Kapamilya star Zanjoe Marudo also earned a Best Performance ny an Actor nomination at the 2017 International Emmy Awards.
