Vice Ganda moved audiences to tears during a recent episode of It’s Showtime with a poignant reflection on cherishing the fleeting moments we share with our parents.

The comedian and host’s heartfelt message was prompted by an equally stirring performance from TNT: All-Star Grand Resbak 2025 contender Mark Justo, whose rendition of Noel Cabangon’s Kanlungan left the studio audience and judges visibly emotional.
Competing for Team Alab, Justo delivered a performance that, while not enough to secure an additional point for his team—tied with Team Alon at 4 points—resonated deeply with everyone present. Among those moved was Punong Hurado Ogie Alcasid, who was seen wiping away tears as Justo’s voice filled the air with nostalgia and longing. The song, which speaks of borrowed moments and the beauty of times we yearn to relive, set the stage for Vice’s touching commentary.
“Naaalala nyo pa ba ‘yung hitsura ng nanay nyo noong pinakamaganda siya?” Vice asked, relaying a question posed to him by one of the show’s segment producers. The inquiry struck a chord, tying directly into the themes of Justo’s performance.
“Ano ‘yung moment ng nanay nyo na nakita nyong napakaganda niya? Kasi dapat daw mag-stay sa isip natin ‘yun, ‘yung araw na napakaganda pa niya, o napakalakas pa ng tatay mo,” Vice continued, urging everyone to hold onto memories of their parents at their most vibrant.
Reflecting on the passage of time, Vice added, “Kasi lumilipas ang panahon. Beauty fades, di ba? Iba na ‘yung hitsura niya, iba na rin ‘yung lakas niya. And we have to be very grateful na nasaksihan natin ang mga moments na ‘yun, na sana hindi natin makalimutan.” Her words served as a gentle reminder to treasure the ethereal beauty and strength of loved ones while they’re still with us.
Vice then turned her praise to Kanlungan itself, calling it a “powerful song” that awakens listeners to the blessings of having experienced their loved ones at their best.
“Bukod sa ini-entertain niya tayo, meron siyang pinapaisip sa atin, pina-parealize sa atin, randomly. We forget about very important things, dahil sa dami, bilis ng nangyayari sa mundo, marami tayong nakakalimutan,” she said, noting how music acts as a lifeline to memories we might otherwise lose in the hustle of daily life.
“Pero sa tulong ng musika, bigla mong maaalala ‘yung jowa mo, ‘yung bestfriend mo, ‘yung teacher mo…maaalala mo ‘yung magulang mo, maaalala mo ‘yung sarili mo, ‘yung pinagdaanan mo, ‘yung karanasan mo, and it’s healthy to once in a while go back to those moments,” Vice elaborated, offering a profound testament to music’s healing power.
Mark Justo’s performance, which scored an impressive 97.7%—just 0.3 points shy of Tenten Pesigan’s winning 98%—proved to be more than a competition entry. It became a moment of collective catharsis, not only for the live audience but also for millions of It’s Showtime viewers tuning in.
Vice’s reassuring words, paired with Justo’s soulful delivery, offered a comforting balm to those in need of reflection and connection.
