The gesture is just one of too many instances that Vice offered financial help to the show’s contestants.
During the April 25, 2025 episode of It’s Showtime, host Vice Ganda made a heartfelt commitment to support TNT: All-Star Grand Resbak 2025 grand finalist Aihna Imperial by covering her monthly lodging rent of 3,000 pesos for as long as she continues her college education. The gesture came after Vice inquired about Imperial’s schooling, learning that the first-year college scholar struggles to afford her boarding house fees despite her tuition being free.
Imperial, who moved away from her family for the first time to pursue her studies, shared the emotional and financial challenges of her situation.
“First time ko pong humiwalay kila mama, grabe po ang iyak ko non,” she said, explaining how she takes on gigs paying 800 pesos each to cover her rent. Vice, visibly moved, remarked, “Noong sinabi sa akin para akong nacho-choke talaga,” expressing empathy for Imperial’s sacrifices.
In a tearful moment, Vice pledged, “Hangga’t kaya natin, sagot ko ‘yang 3,000 monthly mo, hanggang matapos ka sa pag-aaral.”
She also offered to assist with Imperial’s other needs, recalling how a Japanese stranger once funded her own education. Vice framed her decision as a gesture of gratitude for the contestants’ contributions to the show, stating, “Yung mga husay nila na pinagsasama-sama natin, ang laki ng tulong nila sa programang ito… Nagtutulungan lang tayo sa abot ng ating makakaya.”
Though Imperial did not advance to the final round of the TNT grand finals, Vice’s support ensures a brighter future for the young scholar, leaving her and her family visibly grateful.
