Sam Concepcion is officially marking a major career milestone — his first-ever teleserye on GMA Network — through the upcoming primetime series Beauty Empire.
Produced by GMA in collaboration with VIU Philippines and Creazion Studios, the show promises to be a bold addition to local television.
Best known for his work in music, film, and theater, Sam is now venturing into new territory as he stars in a GMA Network drama for the very first time.
“There’s something very fresh and groundbreaking about this show,” Sam shared. “The script is dynamic, the concept is current, and the production team has a very clear and ambitious vision. It’s a perfect match for where I am now, creatively and personally.”
Adding more excitement to his GMA Network debut is the fact that he will be working with some of the network’s brightest stars, including Barbie Forteza.
Sam expressed admiration for Barbie’s acting, particularly her performance in Maria Clara at Ibarra, which he described as “very real and layered.”
“I was really impressed by her work there. I can’t wait to see how we’ll work together in Beauty Empire,” he said.
Sam is also reuniting with director Mark Sikat de la Cruz, with whom he has previously collaborated on several projects. “Direk Mark has always been someone I admire. He knows how to bring out the best in his actors, and I’m excited to explore this new story under his direction,” Sam said.
Set in the glamorous but cutthroat world of the beauty industry, Beauty Empire delves into ambition, power struggles, identity, and authenticity. Sam’s character — still under wraps — is expected to bring drama, romance, and intrigue to the storyline.
“It’s the kind of role that allows me to stretch, to evolve,” Sam shared. “This project is really challenging me to think deeper and perform differently.”
Joining Sam and Barbie in the series are Ruffa Gutierrez, Kyline Alcantara, Gloria Diaz, Choi Bo Min, Chai Fonacier, Isay Alvarez, and Sid Lucero.
Sam emphasized how meaningful this project is for him personally and professionally: “This project just feels right. It’s the right team, the right story, and the right time. And the fact that it’s my first teleserye with GMA makes it even more special.”
‘Beauty Empire’ is currently in production and is set to premiere soon on Viu, followed by its much-anticipated airing on GMA Network.
