In celebration of National Intellectual Property Month this April, GMA Network has released a new series of anti-piracy videos under its ongoing campaign, Stream Responsibly. Fight Piracy.
Aligned with this year’s theme, “IP and Music: Bringing the Pinoy Beat to the World,” the videos spotlight the importance of protecting intellectual property rights in the music industry. GMA Music Anti-Piracy Ambassadors Mcoy Fundales, JC Regino, and Anthony Rosaldo take center stage in promoting the message of responsible content consumption through the hashtag #RespectTheBeat.
Kapuso singer-songwriter Mcoy Fundales from music sub-label AltG Records, shares the importance of supporting and accessing music content the right way. “Importante ang income galing sa legitimate music sales, streaming, at royalties para mas marami pang magagandang magawa ang mga musikero para sa mga music fans. #RespectTheBeat. No to music piracy.”
Sparkle artist and award-winning singer Anthony Rosaldo from music sub-label GMA Playlist, warns against sharing illegally downloaded music. “Sharing isn’t always caring. Kung i-she-share ninyo ang music na na-download ninyo illegally, piracy ‘yan. Buy or stream music from legitimate channels. #RespectTheBeat. No to music piracy.”
Fellow singer-songwriter JC Regino, known for his emotional ballads, emphasizes how music piracy affects artists and other professionals behind the music. “Hindi lang artist ang apektado ng music piracy, kasama na rito ang producers, sound engineers, and other professionals who depend on fair compensation within the music industry. #RespectTheBeat.
