ABS-CBN posted a solid weekend TV ratings, thanks to the much-anticipated return of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT)’ for its 7th season and a strong showing from the country’s longest-running Sunday musical variety show ASAP, which held its ground against Kapuso counterpart ‘All Out Sundays (AOS).’
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People ratings, PGT Season 7 debuted with a promising performance.
On its pilot episode on Saturday, March 29, the show earned a 5.3% rating, although falling short of “Pepito Manaloto’s” 8.4% but still outperforming its predecessor ‘Rainbow Rumble,’ which opened with 4.8%.
On its second day on Sunday,March 30, however, PGT dipped slightly to 4.3%, trailing behind BBLGANG, which posted 8.8%.
Despite the slight drop in TV ratings, PGT Season 7 drew impressive digital reception, racking up 275,424 peak concurrent viewers on Saturday and 246,593 peak live viewers on Sunday, proof of its strong online following.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s Sunday variety show ASAP also delivered a notable performance on March 30, tying with its long-time rival ‘All Out Sundays.’ Both shows registered a 2.3% rating, marking ASAP’s closest return to the top since February 1, when it edged out AOS with a 3.0% to 2.8% win.
