After actress Kathryn Bernardo revealed on national television that her childhood crush was a boy named “Kenneth” from her elementary school in Nueva Ecija, the internet went on a full-blown search—and found him.
The mystery crush, now revealed as newly licensed physician Dr. Kenneth Hizon, finally broke his silence in an exclusive interview with News5’s Von Belinario. And yes—Kathryn was also his first crush.
“To be honest, siya rin ang una kong naging crush,” Kenneth admitted with a smile, confirming that the feeling was mutual even back in Grade 2.
According to Kenneth, he and Kathryn were classmates from nursery to around Grade 1 or 2, first at Christian Faith Montessori and later at Flowerlane Montessori Children’s House in Cabanatuan City.
“Naalala ko sa kanya is masayahin siyang tao. Kapag nakita mo siya, siya talaga ‘yung bright kid. Siyempre, maganda,” he recalled.
The young doctor, who recently passed the Physician Licensure Exam in October 2024, shared that he first found out about Kathryn’s viral confession while he was on duty at the hospital. Friends started tagging him in clips from ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ where Kathryn blushed while recalling her “mestizo crush named Kenneth.”

“Nu’ng una, I wasn’t sure… Siyempre, Kenneth—hindi lang naman ako ang Kenneth sa buong Flowerlane. Pero ‘nung ni-recall ko, parang ‘ahh baka nga ako?’ Pero siyempre hindi ko naman sinasabing ako, malaki lang ang chance,” he laughed.
Despite the sudden fame and social media frenzy—including throwback photos and playful match-making from fans—Kenneth remained humble and respectful.
“Siyempre, nakakatuwa kasi ikaw ba naman ang maging crush ng isang Kathryn Bernardo, di ba? Na-overwhelm lang talaga ako nu’ng una. Pero so far, all good naman,” he said.
Currently single, Kenneth said he’s open to reconnecting with Kathryn someday, but made it clear he isn’t out to ride on her fame.
“Hindi ko gagamitin si Kathryn sa pagiging famous kasi may pinagsamahan naman kami noong bata kami,” he said sincerely. “Hello, Kath. I’m hoping to meet you, and if your busy time will allow us, I’m hoping to catch [up] with you.”
As of writing, Kathryn has yet to respond to her first crush’s sweet revelation.
