Former ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11’ housemates JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith are no strangers to fan speculation, and at a recent press conference, the fast-rising love team known as #JMFyang didn’t hold back in addressing questions about their closeness and undeniable chemistry.

During the Star Magic Spotlight press event, JM and Fyang shared heartfelt insights into the nature of their bond, emphasizing mutual respect, happiness, and growing comfort with one another. While they stopped short of confirming an official romantic relationship, their answers painted a picture of something deeper than just fan service.
“As long as may pagpapahalaga at respeto kami sa isa’t isa, sapat na po sa amin ‘yun,” JM said, adding that they’re happiest when they’re together — on or off the clock.
Fyang echoed this sentiment, saying, “Ang masasabi ko po sa ngayon ay pinahahalagahan po namin ang isa’t isa at masaya po kami tuwing magkasama kami.”
Their closeness began inside the ‘PBB’ house and only deepened after the show. “Doon kami nag-start maging comfortable sa isa’t isa… Nadala namin sa labas ng bahay at nagtuloy-tuloy po,” Fyang shared, reminiscing about their playful yet sincere bond that fans witnessed on screen.
JM, for his part, admitted that their connection has become stronger, saying, “Mas closer siya sa puso ko ngayon compared sa pinagsamahan namin sa PBB. Mas kilala na namin ang isa’t isa, at mas malapit na kami sa mga pamilya namin.”
When teased about the possibility of someone else courting Fyang, JM was firm: “Hindi po sila makakasingit.” Fyang quickly backed him up with a smile: “Walang makakasingit. Bawal.”
While both remain focused on their careers for now, they acknowledge the pressure that comes with being labeled a “power couple” by their growing fanbase. “Dapat may mangyari kasi mataas ang expectation ng fandom namin,” JM admitted.
Fyang added, “Sana may mapatunayan kami — sa pelikula, TV shows, series, kahit ano.”
That opportunity is already underway. The duo is part of the Tagalized voice cast of the South Korean drama film ‘Picnic’, produced by Lotte Entertainment and locally distributed by Nathan Studios. It marks their first film project following their appearance in the music video for Regine Velasquez’s ‘Wherever You Are’ earlier this year.
