Veteran actress and Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz is making headlines after her bold comment on senatorial candidate Phillip Salvador’s recent viral video drew attention online.

In the now-deleted Instagram comment, Diaz reacted to a clip showing Salvador passionately shouting “Bring him home!”—a phrase he repeatedly chanted during a public rally in support of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently facing trial at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Diaz’s direct remark: “Yung anak mo, padalan mo ng pera” instantly ignited discussions on social media. While the comment has since been removed, screenshots continue to circulate, with netizens praising the beauty queen for her unfiltered honesty.
Online users believe Diaz was referring to Salvador’s son with Kris Aquino, Joshua, who has special needs. Many pointed out how Salvador’s alleged neglect of his son raises questions about his capacity to serve in public office.
“Kung anak nga napabayaan, paano pa ang taumbayan na pagsisilbihan nya?” one netizen commented. “Tama naman si Ms. Gloria Diaz. Pabaya siyang ama and people know that. Tapos gusto pa nating iboto?” another added.
Diaz’s Instagram bio, which reads “No filter since 1969,” resonated strongly with netizens who felt she merely echoed the thoughts of many.
Despite the brewing controversy, Phillip Salvador has yet to address the viral comment or issue a public statement. However, in past interviews, Kris Aquino has maintained that she holds no grudge against Salvador.
“No issues whatsoever kay Phillip Salvador. Hindi naman niya kami ginulo. Publicly, pinuri niya ang pamilya ko… so, sa kaniya, grateful ako,” Kris previously said.
Meanwhile, Gloria Diaz has remained mum following the incident, leaving the internet to debate whether her candid remark signals a deeper frustration with political aspirants and their personal accountability.
LionhearTV remains open to the side of Phillip Salvador or his representatives.
