Kapuso heartthrob David Licauco stirred up some buzz with a playful jab at his close friend and fellow actor Dustin Yu, who’s currently navigating the drama-filled waters of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.

On April 20, Licauco took to X, posting, “Baka maabutan mo yung Samahan Ng Makasalanan pala @dustinyuu,” teasing that Yu might get evicted from the PBB house just in time to catch Licauco’s new film, Samahan ng Mga Makasalanan, which hit cinemas on Black Saturday, April 19.
Licauco’s satirical comedy, directed by Benedict Mique, features him as Deacon Sam, a charming priest tasked with reforming the quirky sinners of the fictional town of Santo Cristo.
The film, also starring Sanya Lopez, Joel Torre, and Buboy Villar, has been praised for its lighthearted take on faith and redemption, earning an R-13 rating from the MTRCB.
Meanwhile, Yu, one of three Kapuso stars nominated for eviction this week alongside his Kapamilya partner Brent Manalo, has been making waves inside the PBB house—but not all for the right reasons. Netizens have been vocal about Yu’s recent behavior, particularly his apparent infatuation with housemate Bianca de Vera and a heated argument with Klarisse de Guzman, which some viewers are calling a potentially iconic PBB moment.
These incidents have sparked mixed reactions, with some fans labeling Yu’s actions as a turn-off, while others continue to rally behind the actor, once hailed as a “green flag” housemate.
X users quickly picked up on Licauco’s post, speculating whether he’s clued in on Yu’s rocky standing in the house.
One user wrote, “Alam ata ni david na possible ma-evict si dustin sa mga ganap nya sa bnk,” suggesting Licauco might be aware of Yu’s controversies.

Another fan jokingly pleaded, “HAHAHAHAHA. Wag muna. Ilalaban pa namin sya hanggang mag big 4 and matagal na din syang single. time nya na to,” showing lingering support for Yu.
However, not everyone’s on board, with one user commenting, “Umay na din sa ugali. Nung una siguro pwede pa mag big 4 kaso lumabas na tunay na kulay hehehe sorry dustin fans.”

Licauco, who’s been vocal about his tight bond with Yu, previously expressed pride in his friend’s PBB stint during a March 27 media conference for Samahan ng Mga Makasalanan. “Lahat ng sikreto ko, alam niya,” Licauco said, hinting at their close friendship.
Whether Licauco’s playful jab is a lighthearted tease or a subtle nod to Yu’s precarious position in the house remains to be seen.
Will Dustin Yu indeed be out of the PBB house in time to catch Samahan ng Mga Makasalanan on the big screen? With eviction night looming, fans are eagerly watching to see if Licauco’s cheeky prediction comes true. For now, the spotlight remains on both the film and the PBB drama, keeping Kapuso fans glued to their screens.
Samahan ng Mga Makasalanan is now showing in cinemas nationwide. Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition airs weeknights at 10 p.m. and Sundays at 6:15 p.m. on GMA Network.
