Kapuso actor David Licauco couldn’t be prouder of his close friend and fellow actor Dustin Yu, who’s currently inside the ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ house.
During the media conference for his upcoming film ‘Samahan ng mga Makasalanan’ last March 27, David opened up about the strong bond he shares with Dustin and how much he misses him now that he’s part of the reality show.
“Si Dustin kasi ‘yung pinaka-close ko. Everyday ko siya kausap, literally,” David revealed. “So siyempre, big adjustment for me na wala siya. Everyday kami magkasama eh. Lahat ng sikreto ko, alam niya. Lahat ng sikreto niya, alam ko.”
He added that he had just returned from Australia the day before Dustin entered the PBB house, and the two got to see each other before parting ways.
Despite feeling the absence of his best friend, David is thrilled about Dustin’s new journey. “I’m just really happy for him,” he said. “Sabi ko lang sa kanya, I think your objective should be to help everyone.”
The two actors became close during their stint on ‘Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune’ in 2022, and later worked together again in the historical Kapuso series ‘Pulang Araw’, where they played Hiroshi and Kenji.
Off-screen, David and Dustin have been fan favorites on social media, frequently appearing in each other’s TikTok videos that showcase their tight friendship and charm.
Inside the ‘PBB’ house, Dustin has quickly become one of the season’s standout housemates. He’s been dubbed a “green flag” by netizens and has even been shipped with celebrity house guest Ivana Alawi, further boosting his popularity.
Meanwhile, David is gearing up for the release of his newest film ‘Samahan ng mga Makasalanan’, a satirical comedy that dives into redemption and faith. He stars alongside Sanya Lopez, Joel Torre, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, and child actor Euwenn Mikaell. The film, directed by Benedict Mique, opens in cinemas nationwide on April 19, Black Saturday.
