Kapamilya actor and singer Daniel Padilla is embracing a new chapter in his life—one that involves starting a family of his own in the near future.
In an interview with Esquire Philippines, where he also appears on the magazine’s latest cover, the 29-year-old star opened up about his desire to settle down and build a family.
“Wala na akong ibang pupuntahan pa. Gusto ko na rin buksan ‘yung chapter na ‘yon dahil minsan hinahanap na rin ang laman ko,” Daniel shared.
“Eventually, I am looking forward to having a family. Ano pa ba ang gagawin ko? Nandun na ako sa boundary. So pukpok muna sa trabaho, then eventually start a family,” he continued. “Most of my friends have families, nakikita ko na din magkakalaro ang mga anak nila.”
Daniel, who is currently starring in ‘Incognito’, a primetime action drama series on TV5 and ABS-CBN platforms, described the show as a much-needed creative reset in his career.
“Enjoy ako dahil I love what I’m doing now. Breath of fresh air talaga itong ginagawa kong Incognito,” he said. “Before doing this, I was parang… nawalan na rin ako ng gana. Lahat naman tayo sa trabaho natin, ‘di ba? We burn out.”
Portraying the role of Andres Malvar—a former Scout Ranger skilled in CQC (Close Quarters Combat) and anti-guerilla warfare who was discharged after a homicide case—Daniel said the role reinvigorated his passion for acting.
“Suwerte rin ako na nabigay sa akin itong proyekto na Incognito. Sarap nung ginagawa ko ulit. Kaya after this, parang ang dami kong ideas sa mga next ko namang gagawin.”
Outside of work, Daniel shared how he unwinds in nature, spending time in Tanay, Rizal where he enjoys mountain hikes, camping, and a slower pace of life.
“Namumundok kami doon. Iba sa realidad natin,” he said. “Bumalik sa nature kung saan simple ang mga bagay. Katahimikan, oras sa pamilya, para magdasal, oras para maglaro.”
“Gusto ko lang mag-farm, may mga hayop na inaalagaan, may open space, maraming halaman, sariwang hangin.”
He also expressed how much he enjoys being a “cool tito” to Baby Claudio, the child of his younger brother JC Padilla.
“’Yung bahay namin nag-iba kasi may baby na. Ngayon ko lang nakita ‘yung effect ng baby, lalo na sa mom ko. Jusko po, hindi na umaalis, hirap na hirap umalis, ayaw iwanan si Claudio!”
While fans await the next big reveal in Incognito, it’s clear the actor is ready for more than just action-packed roles—he’s preparing for life’s biggest one yet: fatherhood.
