Content creator Benedict Cua is showing unwavering support for his close friend Mika Salamanca, currently a housemate on ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.’
In a heartfelt TikTok video posted Thursday, April 3, 2025, Benedict recalled how their friendship began back in 2019 when they both participated in a meet-and-greet event. The two bonded over a shared experience of being scammed, which unexpectedly laid the foundation for their closeness.
“Parang younger sister ko siya, tapos kuya niya ako,” Benedict said, even joking, “Noong naging close kami, winawalanghiya na niya ako.”
But beyond their playful dynamic, Benedict took the opportunity to highlight the depth of Mika’s journey—especially the controversies she has faced, such as her arrest in Hawaii in 2020 for allegedly violating quarantine protocols.
Benedict shared that he empathized with Mika’s experience of being misunderstood and constantly bashed online. “She has done a lot of mistakes in the past na pinagsisihan niya, at nakita ko talaga personally ‘yung growth niya,” he said. He praised her for facing criticism head-on without resorting to bringing others down.
“She had occasional mental breakdowns that nobody ever knew. But her heart was still the same. Pag friend ka niya, poprotektahan ka niya,” he added.
The content creator expressed his joy seeing Mika enter the PBB house, believing it’s a chance for people to finally see who she really is beyond social media perceptions.
“Sobrang saya ako na nakapasok si Mika sa PBB. Ito ‘yung opportunity na makita niyo who she really is—without her trying to explain or defend herself.”
As of April 5, Benedict’s video has garnered over 4.2 million views and 400,000 likes on TikTok, with many users commending the authenticity of their friendship.
Benedict also shared that he auditioned for ‘PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition’ but wasn’t selected.
