Ortega and Kapamilya housemate, AC Bonifacio, are the first duo evictee of the historic Kapamilya-Kapuso collaboration.
Ashley Ortega, recently evicted from Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Celebrity Collab Edition, opened up about a heartfelt message from her boyfriend Mavy Legaspi’s mother, actress Carmina Villaroel, in an interview with showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz.
“No’ng kakalabas ko lang ng bahay ni kuya nag-text kaagad sa akin si Tita Mina, which I really appreciate,” Ortega shared.
“Kinumusta niya ako agad, sabi niya ‘Hi Ash, how are you? Welcome to the outside world. I’m so proud of you for being a strong woman. I can’t wait to see you soon and take care.’”.
Ortega, whose two-week stint in the PBB House was brief but transformative, expressed gratitude for Villaroel’s support. She revealed that Villaroel, her husband Zoren Legaspi, and their twins Mavy and Cassy were avid viewers of the show.
“Sabi niya pinapanood daw niya. Sila daw family, si Cassy, si tito Zoren, at siya. Pinapanood daw nila ang PBB. Yun daw family bonding nila,” Ortega said.
“So na-appreciate ko kasi supportive sila sa akin and I hope because of PBB mas nakilala rin nila ako.”
Though her PBB Celebrity Collab Edition journey lasted only two weeks, Ortega said it taught her invaluable life lessons and opened unexpected doors, including a meaningful reconnection with her mother.
