Kapamilya star AC Bonifacio has admitted that her boyfriend, Harvey Bautista, got jealous of her closeness with Kapuso actor Michael Sager during their time together on ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’.
In a media interview during the Star Magic Spotlight press conference on April 11, AC shared that Harvey initially reacted emotionally but later acknowledged he had overreacted.
“As in okay na okay kami. Nagulat ako when people go up to me, di ko alam naging issue sa labas. Me and Harvey are totally good, if anything, we have gotten stronger,” said AC.
She explained that the time apart while inside Kuya’s house, as well as the lack of communication, actually helped strengthen their bond.
“The time apart and time not having communication made us stronger individually. Now we are back together, we are so much stronger.”
While she admitted there was a moment of jealousy, AC emphasized that it was nothing they couldn’t resolve.
“The tags, the shipping, the comments—it can get to you. When you are not able to communicate, iba mabi-believe. But he is okay. He realized after we talked about it, ‘Sorry, ang OA ko pala.’ May factor na nagselos. Ako rin naman nagseselos, pero communication fixes everything.”
AC also clarified that she had made her relationship status clear even while inside the PBB house, and that she viewed Michael Sager simply as a friend.
“Like with Darren [Espanto], walang malisya. I clarified so many times I have Harvey. Me and Michael, I would tell him all the time, you are like Darren, my Canadian buddy.”
She added that their shared hometown helped them naturally connect.
“Iba kasi ‘yung feeling if connected to home. I know the things I say—he won’t take it in a different way. He made me feel like home. We are both from Vancouver. Harvey understood that and we have been good since then.”
AC also addressed her relationship with PBB housemate Bianca de Vera—Harvey’s ex-girlfriend—saying things were civil and even warm between them.
“It was just that conversation and then done. We got to spend two weeks together. I slept beside her, she was the one I said good morning to first. Nagde-debrief pa kami everyday.”
“May sarili kaming debriefing—how our day went, how we felt. Our humor is on the same level. She taught me how to cook. I would teach her moves. We got better.”
AC shared that any awkwardness between them was caused by external comments, not personal issues.
“We just had common denominators who were saying things about us which caused the ilang factor. I wanted to approach things right away and fix it—to break the ice. So we could spend time with no walls.”
She’s even looking forward to spending time with Bianca outside the PBB house.
“We bonded so much. I told Harvey, ‘Paglabas ni Bianca, mag-hangout tayo please.’ Sinabi ko din ‘yun kay Bianca. I asked if okay naman sila. She said, ‘Yeah, let’s hang out.’ Para okay na lahat. If between the three of us we are okay, I think everyone should be too.”
Bonifacio also reminded fans not to jump to conclusions based on what they see on screen.
“There are moments not being shown talaga. So for me, I will wait for them to come out and say to me ng diretso.”
Asked if she would return to the PBB house given the chance, AC didn’t hesitate.
“I will always be willing to be with family. The connection we made is really true and genuine. There is so much love. I totally would.”
