Kapuso rising star Shan Vesagas expressed deep gratitude to content creator Esnyr Ranollo, crediting their friendship as a key factor in launching his showbiz career.
In an interview during his appearance on ‘Unang Hirit Kitchen’, Shan looked back on how his now-viral team-up with Esnyr began. The two first connected as social media acquaintances before working together on Esnyr’s hit mini-series, where Shan portrayed one of the love interests of Esnyr’s beloved character, Precious.
“Noong kinuha ako ni Esnyr, we were just social media friends talaga. Noong nangyari na ‘yung series, doon po kami naging close talaga and winork out ko ‘yung relationship namin as friends,” Shan recalled.
The young actor admitted that the collaboration not only gave him exposure but also paved the way for his entry into GMA Network.
“I have to admit it na I owe him my career. He was the one who paved the way for me to even be here in GMA. So ayun, admitted ko po iyon, so talagang winork out ko ‘yung friendship namin,” he said.
Off-cam, their friendship continues to grow. “Even kahit hindi po kami nagta-taping or gumagawa ng content, we go out. We go out for dinner, we watch UAAP games together,” Shan added.
With Esnyr now inside the ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ house, Shan was asked whether there was a chance he might follow. He clarified that he hasn’t heard any news of joining the show, joking, “Hindi po patas ‘yung laban,” in reference to seeing Esnyr and Brent Manalo—another one of Precious’s onscreen love interests—inside the house.
Despite that, Shan showed his full support for his friend: “Sana magpakatatag ka pa dyan sa loob, kayo ni Brent. Sana magtuloy-tuloy ‘yung journey niya dito sa PBB kasi alam ko po na dream niya talaga ito. Sabi po niya isa ‘yan sa what ifs niya.”
Currently, Shan stars in GMA Public Affairs’ youth-oriented show ‘MAKA’, alongside fellow Kapuso stars Zephanie, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, Elijah Alejo, John Clifford, and more.
