On March 28, entertainment columnist and talent manager Ogie Diaz posted a series of cryptic tweets on his X (formerly Twitter) account that sparked speculation among netizens.
His posts came shortly after online buzz surrounding Kathryn Bernardo’s mother, Min Bernardo, who allegedly unfollowed Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala on Instagram.
Ogie first tweeted, “Haaaay…. Smile na lang ang Mama Ogs,” followed by another post that read, “Follow-unfollow. Ano kaya ibig sabihin non? Eh yung tahimik lang? Sumakses ba?” He later added, “Unti-unti nang sumasakses ang aking mga tsika. ”
Although Ogie never mentioned any names, netizens quickly linked his posts to the issue involving Kathryn and the rumored romantic connection with Mayor Alcala. This was especially due to the timing of the posts, which coincided with reports that Mommy Min had unfollowed the politician online.
One follower replied to Ogie, accusing him of trying to insert himself into the situation: “Hindi ko alam kung saan sa tsika ang success mo pero kung about kay mayor at Kathryn, kami alam na rin namin ang totoo. Epal ka. Hinihintay na lang namin MISMO galing kay Kathryn ang kumpirmasyon.”
Ogie responded by clarifying, “Wag pong praning, ati. Hindi po ‘yon ang tinutukoy ko. Bawal ma-high blood.✌︌✌︌✌︌”

Meanwhile, entertainment site Fashion Pulis reported that Min Bernardo had allegedly followed and then unfollowed Mayor Mark Alcala on Instagram. The alleged social media activity fueled rumors, with netizens speculating that Mommy Min might be distancing herself from the growing buzz linking her daughter to the politician.
Despite the growing chatter, neither Kathryn Bernardo, Mayor Alcala, nor Mommy Min have issued any public statements confirming or denying the rumors. Supporters and critics alike have voiced opinions on social media.
