The KimPau fandom is proving its unwavering support for Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, as their upcoming film ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ has already earned over PHP 1.1 million from block screenings—even before its official release.
According to a post from @onepublicityph on X (formerly Twitter), tickets worth PHP 1.1 million have been booked and fully paid for screenings at SM North EDSA alone, covering just the first two days of the film’s run.
“Booked and paid PHP 1.1 Million worth of tickets at SM North Edsa for the first two screening days! Huge thanks to all contributors! Special thanks to SM Cinema North Edsa and our BS Coordinator for Luzon @iamkaye0225. #9DaysToGo #KimPauMovie.”
This staggering figure does not yet account for the other fan-organized block screenings happening across Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and even overseas. Given this early momentum, projections suggest the total earnings from block screenings could reach PHP 10 million in its opening week.
Following their successful pairing in the hit series ‘Linlang’, Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino continued their on-screen chemistry in the Philippine adaptation of ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?’ Now, their much-anticipated romantic fantasy film, ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’, is set to hit theaters this March under Star Cinema.
For Kim, the film offers audiences a refreshing escape from reality.
“I think it’s an escape from what you’re dealing with right now, to watch a feel-good movie,” she shared, emphasizing how the film aims to bring joy to viewers.
Beyond entertainment, Kim credits Paulo for pushing her to become a better actress, describing how his dedication to the craft inspires her to elevate her performances.
“There’s always something new when you work with Paulo Avelino. He’s very dedicated, so you’d feel embarrassed if you don’t bring your A-game. You need to adjust, level up, and match his intensity,” Kim said during the film’s press conference.
After collaborating on multiple projects, Kim noted that their working relationship has grown immensely over time.
“We’ve done three projects together, and we’ve experienced different levels of acting intensity. Naturally, we become close when we work together on multiple projects,” she shared.
With KimPau fans mobilizing early ticket sales, ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ is poised to be one of the most highly anticipated and potentially successful local films of 2025.
If these early block screening revenues are any indication, the film could see a strong box office performance in its opening week, fueled by the loyal KimPau fanbase and the overwhelming chemistry between its lead stars.
