Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix experienced his first heartbreak at a young age, and his mother, Grace Tanfelix, fondly recalled the moment during her guest appearance on Toni Gonzaga’s ‘Toni Talks’ on March 9.
According to Mommy Grace, Miguel was just 14 years old when he came to her in tears after breaking up with Barbie Forteza, his former on-screen partner and rumored young love.
“Talagang batang-bata pa siya noon. Naaalala ko, nagkasalubong kami sa hagdan, sabi niya, ‘Mommy, nag-break na kami,’” she shared, laughing. “Umiiyak siya habang sinasabi ito sa akin.”
Despite seeing her son in distress, Mommy Grace did not intervene in his relationships. Instead, she reassured Miguel and offered simple yet meaningful advice: “Hindi ako naging istrikto sa kanya. Noong nagkaroon siya ng girlfriend, sinabi ko lang sa kanya, ‘Mag-enjoy lang kayo. Gawin n’yo lang inspiration ang isa’t isa,’” she explained.
She also emphasized that she has always been supportive of whoever Miguel chooses to date, as long as he maintains respect and responsibility.
“Basta kung sino ang gusto ng anak ko, gusto ko rin naman. Basta lang may limitations,” she said.
Miguel and Barbie have long been paired together as a popular on-screen tandem during their early years in showbiz, working on projects like ‘Paroa: Ang Kuwento ni Mariposa’. While their rumored romance never materialized into anything serious, fans have always been curious about their close bond.
Though both have since moved on, with Barbie now in a longtime relationship with Jak Roberto, Miguel continues to shine in his acting career, most recently starring in ‘Mga Batang Riles’.
