TV host and motorcycle enthusiast Kim Atienza was rushed to the emergency room after a motorcycle accident on Thursday, March 6. The incident, which could have been fatal, occurred when a dog suddenly ran into his path, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.
In a Facebook post, Atienza shared the harrowing details, revealing that the crash threw him eight feet over the handlebars, landing him hard on the pavement.
“I heard a loud crack and felt something break in my body,” he recalled.
Fortunately, off-duty medics from the Fire Emergency Paramedic Assistance Group Emergency Medical Services Philippines (FEPAG EMS) happened to be nearby and quickly came to his aid.
“It was a miracle that the boys of FEPAG EMS PHILS were right behind me, off duty on their way to have dinner in Malate,” Atienza wrote.
“The FEPAG boys brought me to [Makati Medical Center], checked me in the ER, and quietly left when they knew I was okay.”
Despite the severity of the crash, Atienza sustained only broken ribs, with no other major injuries. Expressing gratitude, he thanked God, the medical team, and his children, Felicia and Emmanuelle, who stayed by his side in the hospital.
“Maraming maraming salamat, Panginoon. You are good, unchanging, and ever-present in everything I do. I have nothing in my heart but Gratitude. Life is good. God is good all the time.”
Following his post, fans and fellow celebrities flooded the comments section with well wishes, expressing relief over his survival. Some even asked about the condition of his motorcycle, to which Kuya Kim assured them that everything is fixable.
