2025 is proving to be a breakout year for Kaila Estrada as she continues to make waves in both entertainment and beauty industries.
The actress, known for her compelling performance as Max Alvero in the Kapamilya action-drama ‘Incognito’, has been officially introduced as the first-ever celebrity endorser of Barefaced Skin Care.
During the media launch, Kaila admitted that she was deeply honored and excited when chosen by Barefaced founders Arianne Recella and Eleanor Roma as the face of their brand.
“Sobrang nakakakilig ‘yon,” she shared.
The founders emphasized that Kaila perfectly embodies the essence of their brand—elegance, sophistication, and authenticity.
“She’s very flexible as well as to what our brand wants to say to the people who are using it. Very simple, straightforward but very powerful,” they said.
As someone constantly exposed to heavy makeup and long filming hours, Kaila shared her enthusiasm for Barefaced’s skincare products, which seamlessly fit into her daily routine.
“I’ve had the pleasure of using their products and all I can say is how good it fits my daily make-up and skin regimen. The Barefaced Melt Away is an oil-to-foam cleanser that removes make-up effortlessly. The Sunkissed Tinted Sunscreen and Illuminating Sunscreen protect my skin from UV rays while giving it a natural glow. It keeps my face protected and radiant, and I love it!”
Beyond skincare, Kaila said she values being part of a brand that empowers women.
“Personally, I am so grateful and honored to be part of a brand that is youthful and also empowers women. They take good care of their family, and I grew up with a mom like that. Barefaced is straightforward and authentic, and it delivers amazing results.”
Aside from her beauty brand milestone, Kaila continues to captivate audiences with her role as Max Alvero in Incognito. Max is a cyber ops specialist in a private military group dealing with high-stakes crime cases. However, beyond her stoic exterior, she struggles with deep personal grief following the death of her fiancé.
For Kaila, capturing Max’s emotional depth was a major challenge. She focused on understanding Max’s motivations rather than simply portraying grief through tears.
“Looking into Max’s core was really important. What does she believe in? What is she fighting for? What are the things she values in her life? Those were the key things I really focused on.”
Instead of just highlighting her character’s sadness, she chose to explore the nuances of grief and resilience.
“I didn’t focus on how to cry. I wanted to dive deeper. I wanted to be really calm and figure out why these things matter to her—why does she treasure her ring so much? Why does she carry her pain throughout her journey even if you don’t see it on the surface?”
For Kaila, one of the most beautiful aspects of her role is showing how grief can be transformed into empowerment.
“Grief is a very difficult thing to go through, whether it’s the loss of a loved one or heartbreak. We all experience grief in life, and I feel like there is beauty in using it to empower yourself. It shows resiliency and growth.”
While she acknowledges that she hasn’t experienced the same level of grief as Max, she used her own experiences with loss to anchor herself in the character’s emotions.
“Max’s story is very heavy. Maybe I didn’t experience grief like she did, but I definitely know what loss feels like. That was important for me to connect with her.”
As the series progresses, Kaila teases that Max’s healing journey will unfold.
“Without saying too much, you’ll gradually see moments of her healing. I really hope viewers will be inspired by her story.”
With a string of successful TV dramas and films, including ‘Linlang’, ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’, ‘Viral Scandal’, ‘Un/Happy for You’, and ‘Fruitcake’, Kaila’s career trajectory continues to soar.
