Actress Jennylyn Mercado once again addressed her motorcycle accident from a year ago, reminding everyone about the importance of safety while riding.
The topic resurfaced during a block screening event of ‘Everything About My Wife’ at SM City Telabastagan on March 6, organized by Beautéderm and led by Rhea Anicoche Tan.
Mercado, alongside Sam Milby and Dennis Trillo, is a Beautéderm ambassador, with Trillo officially joining the brand’s roster this March. During the event, Sam, who is also passionate about motorcycling, was unaware of Mercado’s past accident.
“Tumumba?” Milby asked.
“Hindi, tumalsik ako,” Mercado clarified with a laugh.
She recounted how she lost control of her motorcycle while riding with Trillo.
“Nasa likod ko siya. Nadulas ako sa lumot. Nagslide ako sa motor. Humiwalay ako dun sa motor ko. Pero sobrang bilis… Importante talaga ang gear – ‘yung helmet. ‘Yung helmet ko parang dent lang. Ako safe naman ako, wala naman ako.”
Trillo, who witnessed the incident, admitted he was startled, but Mercado assured that she escaped serious injuries because she was wearing complete protective gear.
Motorcycling is a shared hobby for Mercado and Trillo, and they often document their rides on Instagram. Meanwhile, Milby is also known for his passion for motorcycling with friends.
During the block screening, Beautéderm showed its full support for its endorsers, inviting few select members of the media, including LionhearTV, as well as contest winners and Beautéderm staff who enjoyed and swooned over the film.
The romantic-comedy film, which marks DenJen’s first movie together as a married couple, follows the story of Imogen (Jennylyn) and Dom (Dennis) as they navigate a rough patch in their marriage.
