Actress and beauty queen Herlene Budol has made it clear that she has no intentions of working again with Rob Gomez, her former ‘Magandang Dilag’ co-star.
During her guest appearance on the Your Honor vodcast, Herlene was asked in the ‘Executive Whisper’ segment by host Buboy Villar about which actor she would prefer not to work with again. Without hesitation, she named Rob Gomez, citing unresolved issues from their past.
“Yung nagka-issue nga last year. Tapos parang hindi lang ako napagtanggol. Siguro alam niya naman kung bakit ayaw ko na siya makatrabaho. Siguro, siya lang,” she explained.
Herlene and Rob were embroiled in controversy in 2023 after alleged private conversations between them surfaced online. While the issue quickly went viral, the actress revealed she felt unsupported throughout the ordeal.
She further explained how the controversy has taken a toll on her, making it difficult to continuously defend herself when no one publicly stood up for her.
“Pero kung siya ‘yung tatanungin, feeling ko rin ayaw din naman niya ako [maka-trabaho]. Iwas-gulo lang din. Para iwas issue, parang pagod! Pagod na pagod din talaga ako sa mga binabatong hindi naman talaga [din totoo].”
Despite the controversy, Herlene emphasized that she holds no ill feelings toward Rob. However, she believes that avoiding any future collaborations would be in the best interest of both parties.
“Alam mo ‘yun, ang hirap ipagtanggol ng sarili mo. Tapos wala pa nagtatanggol sa’yo. Kaya nilulunok ko na lang lahat ng mga masasakit na salita… No hate ako sa kanya, basta siguro para lang sa ikakatahimik ng lahat.”
Despite the past issue, Herlene Budol remains active in showbiz. She is currently starring in the GMA Afternoon Prime series ‘Binibining Marikit’, where she continues to make a mark as a leading actress.
As for Rob Gomez, he has yet to address Herlene’s statements or issue any comment regarding their past controversy.
