Dingdong Dantes is using his platform not just as an actor but also as a responsible citizen, reminding Filipinos about the importance of tax payment and government accountability.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) recently recognized Dantes as one of the Top Celebrity Taxpayers of 2024 in a ceremony held in Quezon City. Instead of simply celebrating the milestone, the Kapuso star took the opportunity to remind the public of their duty to pay taxes correctly and to hold elected officials accountable for their use.
“Malapit na ang April 15—filing of taxes!” Dantes wrote in an Instagram post.
He emphasized that tax contributions fund public services and national development, making it essential for every citizen to pay their dues properly.
“Bilang mamamayan, siguraduhin nating maayos at tama ang pagbabayad ng buwis, dahil dito nanggagaling ang pondo para sa mga serbisyong pampubliko,” he said.
Beyond tax compliance, Dantes stressed that Filipinos must also be vigilant in ensuring that their hard-earned money is being used properly by those in power.
“Bilang taxpayers, tungkulin din natin na maging mapagmatyag at siguraduhing ang ating buwis ay nagagamit nang tama ng mga taong iniluklok natin sa pwesto at may pananagutan dito,” he added.

Dantes joins a roster of high-profile taxpayers honored by the BIR, including Vice Ganda, Kathryn Bernardo, Kim Chiu, Julia Barretto, Darren Espanto, Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado, and Catriona Gray.
These celebrities set an example by fulfilling their financial obligations, reinforcing the importance of tax compliance in nation-building. The BIR continues to encourage transparency and accountability, urging citizens to not only pay taxes but also demand proper government spending.
As the April 15 tax deadline approaches, Dantes’ message serves as a timely reminder for all Filipinos to fulfill their tax duties while ensuring that their contributions are used for the betterment of the country.
