Kapuso heartthrob David Licauco is not only thriving in his showbiz career but also making waves in the business industry, particularly in food and beverage, construction, and entrepreneurship.
During his recent interview on ‘Izkul of Diskarte’, the actor-entrepreneur was asked about his biggest earnings in a year, combining his income from acting and business ventures.
Licauco initially hesitated when asked about his highest annual earnings, laughing off the question and letting the host guess. When given the range of ₱10 million to ₱30 million, the actor revealed that his earnings exceed that amount.
“Mas mataas pa doon,” he admitted, eventually disclosing that his income reaches around ₱50 million annually, although he did not specify the exact figure.
While his acting career is flourishing, Licauco has also established himself as a successful businessman. His food and beverage ventures include: Kuya Korea – a Korean-style fast-food brand with three branches and Sobra Café – a comfort food restaurant with two branches.
Aside from his restaurant businesses, Licauco is also involved in construction as a “sideline,” further diversifying his income streams.
Despite his success, Licauco admitted that one of the biggest challenges he faces as an entrepreneur is finding the right people to help run his businesses.
“Ito actually ‘yung pain point ko sa pagnenegosyo, especially now na ‘yung showbiz ko is up there and business ko is going up also,” he shared.
Before expanding his ventures, Licauco personally handled multiple aspects of his business—from marketing, operations, and finance to supplier negotiations and purchasing. However, as his commitments grow, he is learning to delegate responsibilities.
“I’m in this macro state where I have to start delegating, and it’s been a problem for me kasi medyo perfectionist ako. I tend to micromanage, so what I’m trying to learn is how to become a leader,” he added.
Aside from business, Licauco remains active in showbiz and is set to star in the upcoming GMA Pictures film, ‘Samahan ng mga Makasalanan’, premiering on April 19, 2025.
In the movie, Licauco will portray a young priest assigned to a town filled with gamblers, thieves, gossips, and sex workers, in what promises to be an intense and thought-provoking role.
With multiple projects and a growing business empire, Licauco continues to prove that he is not just a leading man on-screen but also a strategic entrepreneur off-screen. As he juggles acting and running his ventures, he remains focused on learning and expanding his businesses while maintaining his passion for entertainment.
