Sexy star Yen Durano has officially confirmed her departure from Vivamax, citing personal growth and a shift in career direction as the main reasons for her decision.
During her guest appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on February 12, Yen was asked about her exit from the streaming platform known for its bold and provocative films. She clarified that she wanted to rebrand herself and explore new opportunities in music and acting.
“I guess it doesn’t align with my current energy anymore,” Yen said. “I feel like I’m done with it, I’m done with my contract and movies there. I make music, I wanna focus on my music. I’m a singer-songwriter po, so I do RnB, contemporary soul. ‘Yun po ang fino-focus ko.”
Beyond music, Yen expressed her desire to explore different film genres, moving away from the sexy roles that made her recognizable in Vivamax projects.
“I believe na it’s time to make a change and be firm with that change,” she continued. “If you want to move on to the next thing, you have to stop something and focus your energy doon.”
One of the biggest factors in her decision was her discomfort with further exposure in sexy films, believing that she had already done enough in that genre.
Despite this career shift, Yen shared that her father, actor DJ Durano, has been very supportive of her decision.
“He was very open about it. Actually, he’s a catalyst to why I am here,” she said. “He was very supportive, coming from the industry naman, he’s very understanding.”
However, she admitted that she never informed her father when she first entered Vivamax.
