Businessman, TV host, and Manila mayoral candidate Sam Verzosa has urged city officials to explain the alleged sale of government-owned properties, questioning where the billions of pesos generated from these transactions have gone.

Verzosa, along with his supporters, led a protest march on February 6, 2025, from the Manila Post Office to Kartilya ng Katipunan (Bonifacio Shrine), calling for transparency and accountability from the local government. The rally carried the theme “MANILA IS NOT FOR SALE!” as participants voiced concerns over what they claim to be questionable sales of city assets.
During the rally, Verzosa and his camp presented documents they claim prove that several Manila properties have been sold, allegedly without proper explanation to the public.
“Wag nating hayaan ibenta at pakinabangan muli ng iilang namumuno ang ari-arian ng Maynila,” Verzosa stated, urging Manileños to demand accountability from their leaders.

He also criticized the alleged misuse of funds that he believes should have been allocated for healthcare, housing, and education.
“Bilyon-bilyon pera para sana sa pang-hospital, pabahay, at pag-aaral ng Manilenyo ay kinulimbat lang!”
Verzosa further questioned why city officials have remained silent on the issue and have not provided a clear explanation on where the money from the sales has gone.
“Hanggang ngayon tikom ang bibig nila at iniiwasan ipaliwanag saan napunta ang bilyon-bilyon pera at sino ang nakinabang at nakabili ng mga ari-ariang ito,” he said.
“Bawiin natin ang mga pagmamay-ari ng Manilenyo!”
As the May 2025 elections approach, Verzosa has vowed to fight for transparency and ensure that city assets remain in the hands of the people.
City officials have yet to issue a statement regarding Verzosa’s allegations.
