Actor Sam Milby has broken his silence regarding his split with former fiancée Catriona Gray, finally confirming that they are no longer together.
In an exclusive interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News on February 18, 2025, Sam also dismissed rumors linking Moira Dela Torre to their breakup.
After months of speculation, Sam confirmed that he and Catriona have gone their separate ways.
When asked directly if they were still together, Sam’s response was a firm, “No.”
However, he was quick to clarify that no third party was involved, contradicting rumors that singer Moira Dela Torre played a role in their breakup.
“There was never a third party sa amin ni Cat. That needs to be cleared. There is no truth to it at all,” he emphasized.
The actor also cautioned the public against believing online gossip without solid evidence.
“It makes me sad. May babala ako sa mga tao—please mag-ingat kayo sa mga nakikita niyo online. If there’s no evidence, huwag niyong paniwalaan ‘yung nakikita niyo, because in this incident, there’s absolutely no truth to it at all.”
Sam and Moira were previously known to be close friends, often supporting each other in their careers. However, Sam confirmed that their friendship has come to an end.
“Sobrang close kami before, and I guess people wanted to connect our closeness to may nangyari sa amin,” he said.
When asked if they were still friends, Sam admitted, “We are not friends anymore.”
Despite this revelation, the actor declined to provide details about their falling out, only stating that “It’s an issue that’s really sensitive.”
Speculation surrounding Moira’s involvement began when Sam, along with other Cornerstone Entertainment artists such as Yeng Constantino, Erik Santos, and TJ Monterde, unfollowed Moira on Instagram in late January 2025.
Moira also stopped following anyone on social media, fueling rumors that she was distancing herself from the issue.
Adding to the speculation, a viral video from the Urban Smiles Congress 2025 event showed Catriona seemingly ignoring Moira on stage. In the clip, Catriona greeted other brand executives but did not acknowledge Moira, leading netizens to believe that there was underlying tension between them.
Before the controversy, Sam and Moira had spoken openly about their close friendship. In a 2021 vlog interview with Toni Gonzaga, Moira shared that she had stayed in Sam’s condo unit when she was struggling with depression and had no family in Manila.
“Si Kuya Sam, he’s really protective since wala akong family sa Manila. Kami ‘yung naging family,” Moira had said.
Sam was also among those who supported Moira during her high-profile breakup with estranged husband Jason Hernandez in 2022.
