Swedish national Pernilla Sjoö, close friend of surfer Philmar Alipayo, has broken her silence on allegations linking her to the rumored breakup of Philmar and actress Andi Eigenmann.
Pernilla has been accused of being a third party in the relationship after posting a photo of matching tattoos with Philmar. The tattoo, marked “224,” symbolized “Today, Tomorrow, Forever” and stirred speculation among netizens.
In a series of recent posts, Andi hinted at betrayal from someone she considered a friend, prompting many to assume that she was referring to Pernilla. This led to intense online criticism of the Swedish friend.
In response to the backlash, Pernilla took to Instagram on February 8, expressing her hurt over the accusations.
“I just don’t understand why some people have so much hate in their minds and bodies. I hope that if you ever make a hurtful comment, you can still sleep peacefully at night and smile knowing you’ve caused someone pain,” she wrote.
Pernilla also acknowledged the emotional toll the situation has taken on her, saying, “I’m still human din naman. I still feel hurt, and when it’s too much, it cuts deep.”
She urged the public to be more compassionate and avoid rushing to judgment without knowing the full story.
“I hope you never become the reason someone cries themselves to sleep or questions their worth — asking why they weren’t good enough. You may think you understand, but you don’t,” Pernilla added.
Her account has since been set to private following the flood of negative comments.
While Andi has not explicitly named Pernilla, her cryptic posts on Instagram have fueled speculations. Andi confirmed that Philmar did not cheat on her, but she expressed frustration over the tattoo incident, calling it a betrayal of trust by someone close to her.
“My husband never cheated on me with this girl. I am always around when they are together. I posted because this person betrayed me. She encourages my husband to break up with me during every fight,” Andi wrote in an Instagram Story.
She revealed that she attempted to reach out to Pernilla for an explanation but was met with silence.
“No normal person with good intentions would think it’s okay for a friend to encourage someone else’s husband to get a couple tattoo without considering the partner’s feelings,” Andi stressed.
Netizens have voiced strong opinions on the issue, with many criticizing both Pernilla and Philmar for their actions.
“If the whole family is broken, are you happy now? Whether they are legally married or not, respect should be there since they have children,” one user commented.
Others highlighted Philmar’s responsibility to set boundaries in his friendship. “The mistake here is that Philmar didn’t explain the need for a matching tattoo. Best friends don’t typically do that unless there are feelings involved,” another netizen wrote.
However, some comments targeted Pernilla personally, with one saying, “Pernilla, can you just brush your teeth first? You being a home wrecker adds more injury to your personality.”
Andi and Philmar, who have been engaged since 2020, were planning to get married in 2024. However, the wedding was postponed following the death of Andi’s mother, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose. The couple resides in Siargao with their two children, Lilo and Koa.
As of this writing, neither Andi nor Philmar has issued further statements regarding the status of their relationship. The controversy surrounding the tattoo and allegations continues to trend on social media.
